Written By Regina Kim on Thursday, April 9, 2015 | 7:49 PM

Min talked about her dieting on the April 7 edition of '4 Things Show'!

On the program, Min read a comment that said, "Does Min not get stressed out by her looks or dieting?" She answered, "I do get stressed. I eat a lot, and I gain weight really easily, too. I get a lot of stress about dieting, so I work every single day to lose weight."

She did lose a lot of weight for their "Only You" comeback, but it's not like she wasn't skinny before. Do you think Min should even be worried about how she looks?

140715 miss A’s Min Reveals Her Passion For Music in bnt Magazine

Written By Regina Kim on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 | 12:49 AM

Min, a member of the girl group miss A, recently did a photo shoot with bntmagazine where she showed her sexy, yet cute charms.

In the recent photo shoot with bnt, she worked with many different concepts. Starting from op art-like concepts to a modern concept where the idea of minimalism was reinterpreted, she was able to work with these concepts with her own style. Throughout the photo shoot, she was able to keep the lively atmosphere going through her natural expressions and poses. It could be because she has so much experience in doing photo shoots that she was able to perfectly express the different concepts.

Min sat down with bnt magazine and did an interview. She expressed her passion for music by saying, “Even if I didn’t become a singer, I think I still would’ve done something involving music. I really like dancing. I really want to do solo activities.”

Continuing on, when she was asked about her ideal type, she said, “When I’m talking, I look at the other person’s eyes. While looking, I think about them by myself.” Although she showed a hint of shyness when asked about this question, when she was asked about doing a provocative pictorial, she said, “I want to do it, but I don’t really get the chance to do it.”

140620 Who Wore It Better: Min vs. Jihyun

miss A”s Min and 4minute”s Jihyun were both spotted wearing the same blouse and skirt combination for the Ro&De launch party in Seoul on June 19. Both pieces are items from the Ro&De line.

Although they wore the exact same outfit, they styled themselves very differently, making themselves stand out and still appear unique.

Min paired the black-and-white chevron-patterned blouse and black skirt combination with off-white, gold-rimmed platform sandals and accessorized with a black, large-brim hat, giving her outfit an extra element of freshness–her “beach-y, flow-y” look fits perfectly with the warm weather. Jihyun similarly opted for white sandals, but went for a more chic vibe with a black clutch bag and triangular earrings.

While both look fabulous in the outfit, I think Min wins this face-off for me. I love that she stuck with one theme for her outfit, making her look stylish and youthful. Jihyun”s white shoes threw off her outfit (the look clashed with the clutch). Had she worn black pumps or booties instead, I think a winner would have been even harder to choose!

Nonetheless, I am loving this combo on both fashionistas. So, who do you think wore it better? Comment below with your opinion

With some of the popular Kpop artists making a comeback this month, miss A’s Min surprised fans by hinting at a possible return of their group with her latest post.

On October 15, Min posted the photo above on her Instagram. The blurry photo which seems to be the top of a studio included the short caption, “#COMEBACK”, enough to bring much excitement to every Say A who has been waiting for them since ‘Independent Women Part III’ release last year.

What do you think?

131029 Miss A Jia and Min Looking Drop Dead Gorgeous

Written By Regina Kim on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 | 11:50 PM

Jia of Miss A posted two pictures on Weibo and Instagram on October 26. Her teammate Min accompanied her in one of these black-and-white pictures. They stood with dark eyeliners as they glared at the camera, wearing lingeries. Jia was alone in the second picture in a pose that showed off her glamorous figure and lean lines. It makes people curious as to what they would look like with this kind of makeup for an actual concept. Like, if they were to promote a single or a track, would this concept go well with them as a group?

The fans on both websites have been more than willing to shower the two members with praises, saying that they look just absolutely fabulous and gorgeous with their model like poses and the way their faces are angled. They have quite a knack for modelling and they should consider posing for more magazines in the near future. Some even commented on JIA’s height and body and how she is very beautiful and really the whole package. Hopefully we’ll see more of them soon!

131022 JYP Entertainment Defends An Online Photo Post By Miss A’s Min Featuring Rick Ross’s Head On Sunmi’s Body

Written By Regina Kim on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 | 2:03 AM

"Rick Ross–Lacking 24 servings," was Min’s caption for the photo in a statement, presumably referencing a racial stereotype.

Executives from JYP Entertainment defended band member Min in the wake of an online photo post on Monday that left some fans accusing the singer of racism.

Executives from JYP Entertainment, the record label for the K-pop girl group Miss A, defended band member Min in the wake of an online photo post on Monday that left some fans accusing the singer of racism.

The photo Min posted featured the head of rapper Rick Ross’s pasted onto the body of Lee Sunmi formerly of Wonder Girls reaching for a piece of fried chicken is overt racism or something much more benign.

“Rick Ross–Lacking 24 servings,” was Min’s caption for the photo in a statement presumably referencing the racial stereotype that all African Americans like fried chicken.

The post has since been taken down.

“Min posted [the photo of Rick Ross's head on Sunmi's body to a social networking site] without any malicious intent,” the JYP Entertainment statement read, according to the website allkpop.

“She later realized it was wrong of her to do so and took the picture down. She had no intention of causing a racial discrimination controversy.”

Less than 24 hours after a story about Min’s undeniably odd doctored photo was published on the website allkpop, 1,200 people had commented on the story, with emotions ranging from outrage to apathy.

Reader Alana Kang can’t believe Min would put up something that racially insensitive.

“It’s a damn shame,” Kang wrote on Monday. “She spent years in America. She should know better.”

The Miss A fan is presumably referring to the 22-year-old singer’s time at the Repertory Company High School in New York City.

“That’s like when [ESPN editor Anthony Federico wrote in a headline that NBA star] Jeremy Lin was ‘a chink in the armor’…certain stuff you can’t say and that’s just how it is, no ifs ands or buts.”

Reader Druidboss feels the incident is being blown way out of proportion.

“Omg! Anyone who knows anything about hip-hop will know that people constantly clown on Rick Ross for his weight,” Druidboss wrote

“I’ve seen Rick Ross chicken memes on Facebook before. You’re veering into pretty sketchy territory if you see fried chicken and your brain makes the automatic connection to black people before anything else.”

If anyone should be offended by this image it should be those fat acceptance groups, not black people.”

Jen227 agrees that it isn’t a big deal.

“As a Chinese person, if someone stuck Jackie Chan’s head on Sunmi’s body and replaced the fried chicken with chow mein, I would simply giggle and then go on with my life.”

Miss A fan Joke123 doesn’t see it that way.

“The people here defending and automatically blowing it off as no big deal need to shut up. If someone stuck your oppa or unnie’s head on someone elses body and put a bowl of kimchi there you’d be flipping your shit.”

Reader Alison George says she is unfazed by the doctored photo.

“I’m black and I live in America and I’m not offended at all,” she wrote on Monday.

“There are way worst things I hear on a daily basis. She’s no Paula Deen so just chill. Plus I think it’s more of a jab [about Rick Ross's] weight not his skin color. Come on. It’s Min. She listens to black music. I think she’s good.”

Written By Regina Kim on Thursday, April 18, 2013 | 2:25 AM

Want some legitimate K-Pop style? Soompi Shop is pleased to offer select items from celebrity premium fashion brand Billion Dollar Babes. You may not have heard of the brand, but you may have seen the clothes, and you definitely know the celebrities who’ve worn them! We are offering four chic pieces, worn by Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, SISTAR’s Hyorin and Soyou, and miss A’s Min.

First up is the military-inspired jacket worn by Seohyun last year. This khaki green outerwear looks great when paired with a T-shirt and jean shorts!

Next, we have the Billion Dollar Babes x Lonely Gods graphic T-shirt worn by SISTAR’s Hyorin. This super-soft gray T-shirt has eye-catching graphics on the arms, around the neck, and on the hip. There’s a subtle rhinestone detail for additional cuteness.

We also have the sexy black lace one-piece worn by miss A’s Min. With sheer black lace, a tight fit, and a dangerously short length, this dress is almost too seductive to be worn! However, the metallic collar and the A-line skirt lend a sweet touch and ensure that you will look equally cute and sexy.

Finally, we have the snuggly pastel rabbit tracksuit worn by SISTAR’s Soyou. Available in pink and baby blue, this soft terry set includes an adorable hoodie with floppy rabbit years and large white letters reading “Don’t Kill the Rabbit!” across the back, as well as matching loose-fitting pants. The soft fabric ensures a comfortable and figure-flattering fit.
These four pieces are not inspired by, or copied after, the fashion worn by Girls’ Generation, SISTAR, and miss A — they are the genuine deal. Buy them now on Soompi Shop!

130220 SB Bite: Miss A’s Min Goes To Harlem

Written By Regina Kim on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 | 10:13 PM

So apparently there’s this dance called the Harlem Shake, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it? But luckily miss A‘s Min teamed up with 2AM‘s Jo Kwon, f(x)‘s Amberand others to show us what the fuss is all about.

Barely a month old, the “Harlem Shake” has become the newest internet fad after a video of a bunch of Australian guys dancing to Baauer‘s “Harlem Shake.” And despite their dance not resembling the real Harlem Shake (I’m blaming geography here — I’m pretty sure most Australians don’t even know where Harlem is — it nevertheless managed to go viral and inspire a global trend. And we know K-pop loves nothing more than a good trend, so it was only a matter of time before something like the video above happened.

But this isn’t just another addition to the trend, no, Min’s got plans to use the “Harlem Shake” as a launchpad for her own career. She has so far tweeted a link to the video three times, retweeted reportage surrounding her video (expect this article to turn up on her twitter feed soon as well) and even started her own hashtag (#2min0harlemshake, for anyone interested).

And Min is also branching out from Twitter: She’s on Reddit now, too.

It’s pretty obvious that Min is gunning for a slice of that viral fame cake… and I think it’s really cute, if not absolutely vital. With AQ Entertainment often slow to pick up the slack when it comes to managing miss A, it seems that Min is taking matters into her own hands.

What do you think, readers? Are you going to help Min out with her quest for internet fame, or just watch events unfold from the sidelines? And what are your thoughts on the Harlem Shake?
