Challenging herself at acting for the first time, miss A’s Jia transformed into adorable student for upcoming Chinese drama, ‘Yi You Er Fen Zhi Yi De Xia Tian’ (‘One and A Half Summer’).

The production team of the drama unveiled still cuts of Jia who plays an accountancy student named Song Qing and is known as a bookworm. She has diligent and down to earth character while at times she may come off as unfriendly.

‘One and A Half Summer’ is a teenage drama that will revolve around love, friendship and dreams of young people in their campus lives. The drama also stars 2PM’s Nichkhun.

It is that time of year again! The time of year when idols of all ages, shapes and sizes do battle on the field, pool and range to determine who is the better athlete. Why yes I am indeed talking about the now annual Idol Athletics Championshipsheld by MBC during the Chuseok holidays.

As one of the major idol related events in the calendar year, most participants tend to take it a bit seriously. miss A’s Jia happens to be one of those participants and if her recent tweet is anything to go by then she is definitely practicing hard for the Idol Athletic Championships.

miss A’s Jia recently posted the above picture on her Twitter account along with the following message, ” For the sake of the Idol Athletics Championships~ I’ve come to practice my archery shooting!~ I did well right!? keke.” The picture shows miss A’s Jia in the standard even stance and a shot of her arrow grouping on the target.

(I actually happen to be a hobbyist archer so I feel inclined to point out that you actually shouldn’t be gripping the riser in a full fist.The riser being the middle body of the recurve bow. It should actually be sitting on the palm of your hand. You should also be wearing a sling when using a stabilizer, the long stick thing at the front of the bow, so that the bow swings out of your hands as you shoot but I’m just being pedantic at this point.)

As for the score, it appears that miss A’s Jia shot 2 rounds of 3 arrows. Since the scores go from 10 to 1 from inside ring to outside ring, she scored a total of 50 points out of a possible 60 points. Not a bad score to be honest. Arrow grouping is also pretty good except for the single outlier at 5 points.

This year’s MBC Idol Athletics Championships will involve around 160 idols featuring idols such as 2AM, miss A, Henry, BEAST, Infinite, MBLAQ, ZE:A, Secret, Rainbow, Girl’s Day, A Pink, Dal Shabet, Teen Top, B1A4, EXO, Crayon Pop andSon Jin Young.

Filming does not start until July 15 but Nickhun and Jia were seenthis week at Jimei University in Xiamen, talking to students. Filmingtakes place through October at the college and other Chinese locationsin Xiamen, Fuzhou and Beijing.

Neither singer has acted in a drama before although they have donedrama cameos. Nickhun and Jia both had a cameo in “Dream High” and shealso had a cameo in “Dream High 2.”

Nichkhun was cast in the Japanese film “Ouran High School Host Club”and had a supporting role in the Thai film, “Seven Something.”

Although he is happy singing with 2PM, Nickhun admits that it wasalways his dream to be an actor. He wants it more every time he acts butthat doesn’t mean it’s easy.

“It really feels different to be in front of a camera as an actor andnot a singer,” he said when he was cast in the Thai film. “I’m reallytrying and I want to be a wonderful actor.”

”One And A Half Summers” is set to premiere next summer.

Nichkhun and Jia’s upcoming 30-episode drama is called “Yi You Er Fen Zhi Yi De Xia Tian” (English title “One and a Half Summer“) and will be a young adult drama about campus life. The production will start on July 15 in Xiamen, China.

Nichkhun will play a Chinese American who travels to China to study abroad and to find the girl that he loves. The drama will be set in a beautiful college campus and will draw out the stories of the young students in a fun and romantic way.

“Yi You Er Fen Zhi Yi De Xia Tian” will air next summer.

CJ E&M revealed, “miss A’s Fei and Jia are ambassadors for the Chinese puppet exhibition ‘Shadow Play‘. They’re planning to donate their profits from their ambassador roles to the victims of the Sichuan earthquake. On May 16, they’ll be meeting the audience of ‘Shadow Play’ personally and donate all of their profits. Since CJ E&M are the hosts, we are planing to also donate relief goods“.

On April 20, over 200 people died and over 11,000 were injured from the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan, China. Fei and Jia said, “We want to be at least a small strength to all the people who are in pain from the unexpected disaster.”
